The Horseshoe

Overall Rating:
Upon Arrival:

Parking for this area is extremely limited. The parking area is also hard to see, it is just a turnout on front of an access gate which max can probably fit 4 cars.

The Hike:

The hike to this spot is long, but you are usually rewarded with a swimming hole all to yourself. Once you park in the little turnout walk around the access gate and follow the trail through the woods and across the river bar. The hike takes about 15/20 mintues, it is a pretty easy hike, mostly flat.

The Beach:

There is a large sand/gravel bar edging the river with lots of room to spread out.

There are some large rocks on the opposite shore which can be used for diving. Water depth varies from shallow to 12 feet. There is usually minimal current.

Camping to be found west on the 36 at Swimmers Delight or east on the 36 at Grizzly Creek.
